Intracerebrally is a term mostly used in the field of medicine and neurology. The term defines the administration of medication or treatment directly into the brain. However, there are many synonyms that can be used instead of intracerebrally. Some of the synonyms include intrathecally, intraparenchymal, intraaxial, and intraventricular. Intrathecally is used to describe the administration of medication or treatment directly into the spinal cord. Intraparenchymal implies that the medication or treatment is injected into the brain tissue itself. Intraaxial is used to describe any form of medication or treatment administered inside the cerebrum. Finally, intraventricular is used to describe the administration of treatment within the ventricles of the brain.
