There are various synonyms that are used to describe individuals with ASD, including people with autism, individuals on the autism spectrum, those diagnosed with ASD, and auties, to mention a few. People with autism may present unique challenges in social interaction, communication, and sensory processing. However, they also have unique strengths, such as attention to detail, excellent memory, and a deep focus on specific interests. Using inclusive language that highlights the strength and diversity of individuals with ASD is essential in promoting acceptance and understanding.
